Description
For this image of the mountains that border Palm Springs, the artist made the conscious decision to keep the branches from the neighboring coniferous trees in the frame. The resulting dark branches act as elements of the overall composition framing the distant mountain peak and fixing the viewer's eye on the center of the image.
Located in the Coachella Valley desert region, Palm Springs is sheltered by the San Bernardino Mountains to the north, the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south, by the San Jacinto Mountains to the west and by the Little San Bernardino Mountains to the east.
