My eye is always drawn to architecture. I’m always busy looking at my surroundings. The architecture of the Washington, D.C. subway system is a sort of mixture of repeating forms and textures alongside these sweeping metal and concrete forms. Add to that the streamlined, polished metal of the subway cars and you have a really fascinating situation of light, shapes and sounds. It’s a whole other world down there.

After growing up in a somewhat rural area I decided a change of scenery was in order, so I moved to New York City where I studied photography. My professional career didn't begin until after college, where I worked photographing architecture and construction sites as well as the occasional portrait. I've always been interested in telling stories whether it's the story of a place, a person or simply describing a moment.
